In India, this year, Eid will be celebrated in Kerala and Ladakh on Wednesday, and the rest part of the country on 11 April i.e. on Thursday.

Eid is the most important festival of Muslims. Eid is celebrated not only in Muslim countries but in India also it is celebrated with great Pom and enthusiasm.

There are approximately 20 crores of Muslim population living in India, which is 14% of the total population of India. Muslims are present in every corner of India and people of all communities live together here. Thus it is celebrated by everyone together here.

How Eid is celebrated in India?

Eid is celebrated on the last day of Ramzan (Ramadan). Ramzan is 1 month of fasting in which Muslims keep a fast each day from dawn to sunset.

On the day of Eid, Muslims offer Salat (prayers), recite the Quran, follow good behavior, and donate to needy people.

It is a festival of joy and thanksgiving. It is also a day of forgiving and forgetting ill feelings towards others. The family elder gives 'Edi', a present or money to the youngsters as a blessing.

'Sevai' is the most important element that makes this festival special. Sevai is a sweet dish that is distributed on Eid among friends, relatives, and guests. 

After offering prayer, they hug each other and greet 'Eid Mubarak'. In this way, Eid is celebrated in India.
