Second October is the most important day for all the Indians and Indian history as it Mark the birth anniversary of the two most important persons, One is Mahatma Gandhi who is also known as the father of the nation and the second one is Lal Bahadur Shastri who was the second prime minister of India.

Although 80% of Indians know that the second of October is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi only, very few people know that Lal Bahadur Shastri was also born on the second of October. Even I also knew this two or three years ago and I was amazed to think how far so many years we did not know that the second October is also the birthday of our second prime minister. Let's know about him.

Who was Lal Bahadur Shastri?

Lal Bahadur Shastri was the second prime minister of India, a major national leader, and a freedom fighter. He played an important role in achieving freedom for India from the British rule.

From the beginning, he was associated with Gandhiji and went to jail several times for involvement in the Non-cooperation movement, the Salt Satyagraha, etc. Despite all, he has not become as popular as Mahatma Gandhi.

Mahatma Gandhi 

This name does not need any description for its identity. The name describes the majority of the person (Mahatma Gandhi). Mahatma Gandhi was a follower of the path of peace and non-violence. This was the major reason for his popularity. He had also run many movements by applying his vow of peace and nonviolence and achieved success.

He was also a major part of the freedom fight in India. Thus he becomes the father of the independent Nation.

These are the reasons why the second of October is a great day for Indians. Although we all celebrate the day as a national festival for Mahatma Gandhi. But we should not forget another major person (Lal Bahadur Shastri).
