What are the "Char Dhams" in India India?

India is a place of pilgrimage. Indian pilgrimages are famous all over the world. There is at least one pilgrimage site that can be found in almost all the states of India, which are well known.
The Char Dhams are prominent of these:
*Badrinath in Uttarakhand
* Dwarka in Gujarat
* Jagannath Puri in Orissa
* Rameswaram in Tamilnadu

In India, it is believed that every person should visit these four Dhams at least once in his life. Because visiting the four Dhams, all the sins are washed away and every wish of life is fulfilled.
* Dwarka, Dwarka city is located in Gujarat. It is the place where Dwarkadhish temple was built in 15th-16th century. This is not the original temple of Dwarkadhish. The original temple was built in 200BCE by the grandson of Dwarkadhish ( Lord Krishna), Vajranabha.
The Dwarkadhish temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna,a form of Vishnu or Dwarkadhish which means the king of Dwarka.
* Rameshwaram, the word Rameswaram means "Lord of Rama"means Mahadev aur Lord Shiv. The Rameswaram temple is dedicated to Lord Shiv.
The town and the temple is located on Pamban island of Tamilnadu. It is said that this is where Shri Ram built the "Ram Setu" the holy Bridge, from India to Lanka, today 'Sri Lanka' to reach his wife Sita. Who was Kidnapped by the demon King Ravana.
