The Jagannath temple in Puri

It is said that these four Dhams (pilgrimages)were created by different forms of Lord Vishnu. But we are still determining about these four Dhams. This article is written only about Jagannath Puri which is dedicated to Lord Krishna(an incarnation of Lord Vishnu).

It is said that even now the heart of Lord Krishna beats within the idol of Lord Jagannath. That's why lord Jagannath is called the live god. Apart from this, there are many other reasons for this belief.

Many mythological stories related to the Jagannath temple make this faith stronger.

* One of these stories is of the incomplete idols of Lord Jagannath. Inside the Jagannath temple, incomplete idols of Lord Jagannath his younger sister Subhadra, and his elder brother Balram or Balbhadra are found.

In Indian culture, incomplete or damaged idols are not worshipped. There is a consideration behind the incomplete statues of Jagannath Prabhu. It is said that the idols were created by Lord Vishwakarma, the creator of the whole universe. But his condition was that no one should Enter the room while he was creating the idols. He had come disguised as an old man to create the idols. But the king who was getting these Idols made went inside that room. Thus the idols remained incomplete. Since then the incomplete idols of Jagannath Prabhu is worshipped.

* The second story is about the temple's kitchen. The kitchen of the Jagannath temple is not only one of the biggest kitchens in the country but also full of mysteries.

The kitchen of Jagannath Temple

I have given a lot of information related to this temple in the article before. Tap the link to read. It is said that the Prasad which is prepared in this kitchen to offer lord Jagannath is cooked under the supervision of Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Annapurna.

* The third story is about the idols of Hanuman Ji tied with chains. In the Jagannath Puri, the idols of Lord Hanuman are found tied in chains and they are worshipped in this condition.

There is a mystery behind this too. It is said that in the olden days, sometimes Samudra Dev Ji the sea god used to come inside the temple to have a glimpse of Lord Jagannath. Thus the water of the sea enters the city and damages everything. That's why Hanuman Ji was told to control Samudra Dev Ji and he used to do so but sometimes Hanuman Ji also used to reach the temple to participate in the Aarti of Lord Jagannath and The Sea God used to follow him too. that's why Hanumanji was kept tied to control the Sea God indirectly.

These are not all but many such mysterious things can be hard about Jagannath Puri.
