"Shubho Bijoya" is a Bengali term which means "Happy Bijoya" or "Happy Vijaydashmi".

Shubho Bijoya

This term is used by entire Bengali communities across the world on the particular day of "Visarjan" or on the last day of Dussehra to greet family members, friends, relatives, etc.

The last day of Dussehra is very special for all. It is believed that on this day goddess Durga leaves the earth to Mount Kailash i.e. her husband's home with her two sons Lord Ganesha and Karthika and Goddess Lakshmi and Saraswati.

Playing with Sindoor

Everyone bids farewell to their Goddess with joy and a lot of enthusiasm. The most important and beautiful moment of this day is playing Holi with "Sindoor". All married women apply Sindoor on the forehead and cheeks on one another.

Loudspeakers are played at loud volume. Dhaak-Dhol (a type of musical instrument) is played. People dance and play Holi with Gulal. Thus the last day of Dussehra is observed.
