The Local festivals in India

There is a number of festivals that are celebrated in India as local festival. Pohela Boisakh, Baisakhi, and Bihu are one of them.
Pohela Boishakh is a new year festival in West Bengal. It is celebrated on the first day and in the first month (Boisakh) of the new year in the lunar calendar or on the 14th or 15th of April in the Gregorian calendar.
What is Shubho Nobo Borso
It is a term that Bengalies are used to greet one another in Pohela Boisakh. The literal meaning of this term is Shubho (auspicious), Nobo (new), and Borso( year). Thus the term refers to "happy new year".
Significance and Celebration
In West Bengal, people start the day of the new year by worshipping because it is believed that the way this day is spent the day of the whole year passes, in the same way, that's why everyone tries to do good things on this day and also try to keep themselves and their families happy so that they could be happy and peaceful throughout the year.
There is a custom too to wear new clothes on the new year celebration. People can be seen engaged in shopping for new clothes and jewelry. Apart from these, people also use to go to the temple on this specific day to seek the blessings of God and to make their day auspicious. Most families spend the day together and have their lunch and dinner outside.
Thus they celebrate the day of the new year.
Baisakhi
Baisakhi is a harvesting festival in Punjab. It is also marked on the 14th or 15th of April every year as same as Pohela Boisakh. It is one of the major festivals of the Sikh community.
Baisakhi is also known as Vaisakhi.
Significance and Celebration
Baisakhi is not only a religious festival for the Sikhs but also has a historic significance. It is considered that 'Khalsa' had formed by Guru Gobind Singh on this specific day. The Nissan (flag) procession is taken out in many places. Langar(community meals) are also organized in many Gurudwaras on this day. The Sikh people participate in bhajans and kirtans in Gurdwaras.
The Bihu festival is a set of three festivals in Assam.
1) Bohag Bihu or Rongoli
2) Kati Bihu or Kongali and
3) Bhogali or Magh Bihu
Significance and Celebration
The Bohag Bihu is observed in April, Magh Bihu is observed in January and the Kati Bihu is observed in October.
Rangoli (Bohag Bihu is the most important of the three festivals. The Magh Bihu or Bhogali Bihu is celebrated as a harvesting festival.
