Today (5th February 2022) is Saraswati Puja
It is a festival of students, especially of the school-going students.
Goddess Saraswati is known as the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. It is a Hindu, religious festival, It is celebrated at the end of January or in the first week of February throughout India.
It is celebrated almost in every house, basically in the house where at least one child is still a student.
How does Saraswati Puja celebrate?
In some Hindu families, place the small Idol of goddess Saraswati in a neat and clean place of their house and decorate the surroundings of the place where the idol has been placed. They decorate with many garlands, some of them decorate with different kinds of creativity, and somewhere it is decorated with many beautiful and colorful sarees of women.
Somewhere, all the children of the neighborhood together establish a big Idol of Goddess Saraswati and worship. They enjoy and have fun all night. There are big Pandals also made somewhere by contributing money.
How is Saraswati puja's worship done?
In this festival, children have to keep a fast until finishing the worship. Different kinds of fruits and Sweets are offered to goddess Saraswati. There is a Hawan also done at the end of worship. Pushpanjali (offering flowers with mantra) and Aarti (offering lights with Diyas) are done during worship.
All children participate in the worship, and after finishing Puja the Prasad is distributed among children. In a few small families, only books and copies are placed instead of an idol and worshiped. There is no Havan is done, only Pushpanjali is offered during worship. Then the next day, the idol has been Visharjaned after offering the Bhog of "Dahi" curd "Chuda" a type of grain made of rice.
