The day is also considered auspicious for purchasing gold. The day is also considered to be bring prosperity and abundance in life when it is observed by anyone. 

Akshay Tritia is observed annually in the Shukla Paksha of the Vaisakh month in the lunar calendar (on the third lunar day or Tritiya tithi of the bright half).

In 2025, it will be observed in the 30th of April, i. e. Wednesday. 

Significance 

Akshay tritiya 2025,

Akshaya Tritiya is one of the most auspicious days in Hindu mythology. The word 'Akshay' means 'never diminishing' and 'Tritiya' means 'third day' Thus the day is considered never diminish. That is why, people choose the day for purchasing gold, starting new ventures, for investments, etc. Even weddings and engagement also be done without a muhurat in the Akshaya tritiya day. So that they became successful. 

According to Hindu scriptures, many notable incidence occurred on this day that make the day so auspicious. 

Then notable incidence are:

* Lord Parshuram (the 6th incarnation of Lord Vishnu) was born on this auspicious day. 

* Maharshi Ved Vyasa ( the author of Mahabharata) started narrating the great epic 'Mahabharata' on this day. 

* The day is auspicious also because on this day,  Lord Krishna met his deepest childhood friend 'Sudama' moreover. 

* The scripictures say that the holy river 'Goddess Ganga' was brought by 'Maharshi Bhagirathi' from heaven to Earth on this particular day. 

Rituals and Celebrations 

Akshay tritiya 2025,

Akshay Tritiya honours Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Many people observe a fast on this day and do worship of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Some people use to visit temples to seek blessings of a happy, prosperity and healthy life. 

Donation is the prominent part of this day. Donating food items is considered fruitful for a good and prosperous life. In West Bengal the day is celebrated with great enthusiasm. People wear a new clothe and visit temples and other places. Bhajans and Kirtans are organised in many temples and at home as well.
