What is Vijaya Ekadashi, when is it celebrated, and on which day of February will it be observed?

There are 24 ekadashi observed in a year, which means, two ekadashi falls in each month. In this way, two Ekadashi will be celebrated in the month of February as well. One Ekadashi (Jaya Ekadashi) was on 8th February and the other Ekadasi (Vijaya Ekadashi) is on 24th February in the Gregorian Calendar i.e.on Monday and in the month of Falguna of the Shukla Paksha in the lunar calendar.

Like other Ekadashi, Vijaya Ekadashi also holds great significance in Hinduism. It is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is a sacred and powerful fast that symbolizes happiness, prosperity, and success. Vijaya means success or victory thus Vijaya Ekadashi fast grands victory. Devotees observed this fast to seek prosperity, happiness, and success in their fields. They worship Lord Vishnu after taking a holy bath. They offer fruits, sweets, and flowers to Lord Vishnu. Some people visit Vishnu or Krishna temple and some do all the rituals at home. They also sing bhajans and Aarti of Lord Vishnu or Krishna.

Lord Rama also observed fast on the Vijaya Ekadashi day and got victory over the Lanka King Ravana. He was told the significance of this Ekadashi on the seashore by the sage Bkadalbhya in Padma Purana and Skand Purana, it is mentioned that when anyone is rounded by enemies, the Vijaya Ekadashi fast will ensure victory even in a most critical situation. It is said that in ancient times, many kings and Emperors got victory in their many battles by the power of this fast.

Vijaya Ekadashi fast muhurat 

Vijaya Ekadashi fast will begin on the 23rd of February at 1:55 p.m. and end on the 24th of February at 1:44 pm The fast will be considered valid on the 24th of February from the sunrise to the next day sunrise, on Dvadashi.
