Significance
Diwali is the festival of lights. It depicts the triumph of light over darkness and the victory of good over evil. Diwali is celebrated because Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya on this day after 14 years of exile. The people of Ayodhya celebrate the day by lighting Diyas all over Ayodhya. Since then, the tradition of celebrating Diwali has been going on in India. In this way, every year this day is celebrated as a grand festival.
