According to Hindu mythology, there are 33 crores of deities mentioned, among them, the names of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh among Gods and the names of Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Parvati among goddesses have the highest place.
The material that is used to worship all deities is also different. All the Gods and goddesses are worshipped with the things which they love most.
This is the month of Saawan in the Loonar calendar and Lord Shiv is worshipped in this month. It is said that in the month of Saavan, if Lord Shiva is worshipped with his favourite ingredients, he becomes very happy and grants the desired boon.

* The leaves of the wood apple tree (Belpatra)
* Thronapples flower (Dhatura phool)
* Calotropisgigantea flower (Akwan phool)
* Bhang (Cannabis)

Bel Patra, the leaves of Wood apple tree. Belpatra is very dear to Lord Shiv, without this, he isn't pleased with any worship. There are many stories mentioned about Belpatra.
There are three points in a Belpatra. The Three points exhibit the presence of three deities (Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh).
Moreover, it is said that the wood apple tree originated from the drop of sweat of Parvati (the concert) of Lord Shiva. This is why, Lord Shiv loves this leaf the most.
In astrology, it is considered to be the factor of Rahu. Thus offering this flower to Lord Shiva reduces the negative effect of Rahu in life.
