According to Hindu mythology, there are 33 crores of deities mentioned, among them, the names of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh among Gods and the names of Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Parvati among goddesses have the highest place.

The material that is used to worship all deities is also different. All the Gods and goddesses are worshipped with the things which they love most.

This is the month of Saawan in the Loonar calendar and Lord Shiv is worshipped in this month. It is said that in the month of Saavan, if Lord Shiva is worshipped with his favourite ingredients, he becomes very happy and grants the desired boon.

According to mythology, the five things are the favourite of Lord Shiva.

* Wood Apple fruit (Beal)

* The leaves of the wood apple tree (Belpatra)

* Thronapples flower (Dhatura phool) 

* Calotropisgigantea flower (Akwan phool)

* Bhang (Cannabis)

Wood apple

Wood apple fruit is one of the favourite things of Lord Shiva. It is a fruit which is offered only to Lord Shiv, not any other deity. That's why, it has special importance in Hindu scriptures.

Bel Patra, the leaves of Wood apple tree. Belpatra is very dear to Lord Shiv, without this, he isn't pleased with any worship. There are many stories mentioned about Belpatra.

There are three points in a Belpatra. The Three points exhibit the presence of three deities (Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh).

Moreover, it is said that the wood apple tree originated from the drop of sweat of Parvati (the concert) of Lord Shiva. This is why, Lord Shiv loves this leaf the most. 


Thornapple

* Dhatura Phool (Thronapple flower) This is a white-coloured flower. Lord Shiva likes white colour. Thus worshipping this flower Lord Shiva becomes pleased. The Thornapple has medicinal properties also. It is used by Ayurveda. In English, it is also known as Jemesonweeds, Moonflower, Devil's breath, Hells' bells. 

In astrology, it is considered to be the factor of Rahu. Thus offering this flower to Lord Shiva reduces the negative effect of Rahu in life.


Calotropis gigantea

* Akwan phool ( Calotropisgigantea), This flower is also very dear to Lord Shiva. If the garland made of this flower is offered to Shiv, he pleases so much and blesses.


Cannabis ( Bhang)

* Bhang ( Cannabis) is a type of thing which includes nicotine and is liked by Lord Shiva.
