Indian culture essay for kids ( Class 4 to 6 )

Before answering this specific question, I would like to provide you with some information about the Indian festival.

The people of India celebrate three kinds of festival

* local festival

* Religious festivals and

* National festival

I have already written more about such festivals, if you are interested to know about them go through this article "  Indian Culture: Indian Festival, (Local, Religious & National)".

Now know about 15th August or Independence Day or national festival:

15 August is celebrated as an independence day because about 75 years ago, on this specific day (15th August 1947) India got freedom from British rule and became an independent country.

The British government ruled for 200 years over the people of India and made India a colonized country. They tortured the people of India intensively. They snatched their own identity of being an Indian.

Then some Indians became rebels and started the revolt for freedom. The first year of starting this journey is 1857. The journey has been started by Mangal Singh who was a soldier in the British army. Then there were numberless martyrs who sacrificed their lives to get freedom, some names of the martyrs are exists on the pages of Indian history and some of them are not. But above all, the freedom that the Indians achieved is more precious than everything.

The history behind Indian freedom is too long that can't be mentioned in just one article.
