Important Ekadashi Vrata

The Vrats & Festivals In The Month of November 2025

In Hindu tradition, Ekādashi (the 11th tithi of the lunar fortnight) is dedicated to Vishnu and the associated fasts hold special significance.

These are the two Ekādashi dates in November 2025, according to standard Hindu calendars.

Name of Ekādashi Date & Day (2025) Details / Significance

Dev Uthāni Ekādashi (also called Prabodhini Ekādashi) Saturday, 1 November 2025 (tithi begins 1 Nov morning) Marks the “awakening” of Lord Vishnu after the four-month Chaturmāsa period. Auspicious for new beginnings, ceremonies, etc.

Utpanna Ekādashi Saturday, 15 November 2025 A Krishna-paksha Ekādashi; it is considered good for spiritual resolutions and starting personal vows.

How to Observe

On the day of Ekādashi one may observe a fast (either full fast or partial) and perform puja of Lord Vishnu.

Parana (breaking the fast) is generally done after the end of the Ekādashi tithi, in its proper muhurat (auspicious time). For example, for Dev Uthāni Ekādashi in 2025: begins 1 Nov at 9:11 AM and ends 2 Nov at 7:31 AM; Parana time 2 Nov ~1:11 PM-3:23 PM.

During Ekādashi one typically avoids grains, beans, certain foods, and observes purity.

Themes & Significance

The Vrats & Festivals In The Month of November 2025

November marks the end of the Chaturmāsa (in many traditions) — the four-month period during which many auspicious ceremonies are traditionally avoided. With Dev Uthāni Ekādashi, the period of dormancy ends and auspicious activities resume.

Festivals like Tulasi Vivah, Kartika Purnima / Dev Deepavali bring themes of light, devotion, purity and renewal.

Ekādashi days are opportunities for spiritual deepening, self‐discipline and devotion to Lord Vishnu.

Vrats (fasts) and observances such as Masik Shivaratri, Kalabhairav Jayanti, Vivah Panchami provide rhythm through the month and allow devotees to mark times of introspection, worship and service.

Practical Tips for Observance

Check the local Panchang (regional Hindu calendar) for exact muhurats, sunrise/sunset & tithi timings in your region (Dhanbad, Jharkhand) because times can vary.

For Ekādashi: The fast is typically broken after the Ekādashi tithi ends; avoid grains/beans as per tradition; prepare by taking a light dinner the previous day.

For Tulasi Vivah: Decorate the Tulasi plant, perform the wedding ritual, wear festive clothes and prepare satvik (pure vegetarian) food.

For Kartika Purnima / Dev Deepavali: Evening lamps, river or lake bath (if available), light offerings (dīpān) are recommended.

Use the festival dates as cues for planning auspicious activities like weddings, house‐warmings, etc — once Dev Uthāni Ekādashi is observed, new ventures are considered favourable.
