Why is Aja Ekadashi Celebrated?
By Intimate Viewpoint
Introduction
Hinduism is a religion deeply rooted in devotion, rituals, and observances that help devotees attain spiritual upliftment and liberation. Among the various fasting days (vratas) dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Ekadashi holds special importance. Ekadashi falls twice a month—on the eleventh day of both the waxing (Shukla Paksha) and waning (Krishna Paksha) moon phases. Out of these, Aja Ekadashi, observed during the Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhadrapada (August–September), is regarded as one of the most powerful Ekadashis.
