The 6 uses of ghee in Indian culture

Ghee is a kind of Indian cooking oil. But in India, Ghee is not counted among oils, and neither it ever is called oil. Ghee is made from the cream of whole cows' milk only. That's why it is used in worship also.
As you know, the cow is considered a holy animal in India. It has a very important place in Hindu scriptures. Hence, everything that is associated with the cow is crucial for Indian worship also. Like, cow-milk, cow dung, cow urine, ghee, etc.
* Uses of ghee in Indian worship-
Very rare festivals are there in India where ghee does not use. Where there 'Bhog' has to be offered to God, the ghee is only used there to cook it. Moreover, ghee is also used for light Diyas, especially those which are lighted in front of God. Ghee is also used in Hawan. There is a number of wood pieces used in havan, which need some oil or petroleum to burn. But there is no kind of Petroleum or oil used in Havan except ghee.
* Uses of ghee in Indian weddings-
In Indian weddings too Diyas are used. Which are lighted with ghee only.
In addition, any Indian wedding lasts for 2-3 days. Many times ghee is used in these two to three days rituals.
* Uses of ghee in India Indian cuisine-
There are many dishes in India which are incomplete without ghee. The ghee adds a different kind of test to Indian cuisine and makes them special. Some recipes, like pulao, halwa, and different kinds of sweets are made from ghee. Moreover, ghee makes any boring and tasteless food, tasty and delicious.
* Uses of ghee for health-
Even though excessive fats are always considered bad for health. But ghee which also contains fat not considered bad for health.
In India, children have been given ghee from their childhood. Their food is mostly prepared with ghee. Because it helps to increase memory power.
* Uses of ghee for skin-
Ghee is used for good and healthy skin also. Ghee makes skin beautiful and glowing. It helps to protect the skin from getting dry in winter. Regular use of ghee reduces the dark spots and wrinkles and make it smooth, soft, and healthy.
* Uses of ghee in Griha Pravesh ( The first step inside a new house)-
This is a very important ritual in India. Whenever anyone enters a new home along with the household for living, this ritual is done at first. This is a very big ritual in which ghee is used on a large scale.
A number of the Diyas are lighted with ghee. And placed them all around a new house, especially on both sides of each door.
Moreover, ghee is used to make 'Charanamrit', a special kind of mixed semi-liquid, which is made from cow products only, like cow milk, ghee, curd, cow urine, etc.
Apart from this, ghee is also used in Havan on a large scale. Havan is also a prominent part of this ritual. In this way, the contribution of ghee to Indian culture is enormous.
