There is a deep relationship between sweets and Indian culture. No festival or occasion is celebrated without sweets. It is a consideration from ancient times that sweets help to make relationships deep and strong. whenever someone gets angry or resentful, a piece of sweet helps to persuade him/her.

Not only for eating but also the different kinds of sweets are used for parties, weddings, engagements, birthdays, festivals, etc. So, some special utility of sweets is classified by me as follows.

The Indian sweets are decorated well for offering in wedding ceremony

* The utility of sweets in weddings-

Sweets are of different kinds and are a must at Indian weddings. Sweets are not used only for hospitality but also offered as a gift by the families of both bride and groom. The parent of a bride sends a variety of sweets as per their eligibility with their daughter at the time of farewell.

Moreover, sweets are fed to each other by the bride and groom after marriage. It is a ritual.

Apart from this as well many more uses for sweets are there in Indian weddings.

* The utility of sweets in festivals-

In India, festivals are incomplete without sweets. The different kinds of sweets, like Rosgulla, Gulab Jamun, Kaju Barfi, laddu, Bundiya, etc. make the festival's days special. The sweets are decorated on the table of every house on a festival day.

At a festival, sweets are not used only for eating but at first, they are offered to God then later, they are taken as 'Prasad' by the family members.

Sweets are always made from good quality ghee or cooking oil and milk, cream, paneer, sugar, and edible Colours. So, they never harm our health despite eating them more.

The confectioners make special kinds of sweets for festival days. Moreover, Indians are famous for worshipping and fasting. Women keep a fast on festival days. They do not eat any kind of food which is made up of grains and salt. So, they eat different kinds of sweets on their fasting days.

* Utility of sweets in hospitality-

In India, there is no hospitality without sweets. Guests are always welcome with different kinds of sweets. Where there any family get-together is going to be held, the different kinds of sweets are mentioned on the top of the list of essential goods.

Apart from this, when someone goes to meet anyone in his/her home, a box of sweets is carried with them as a gift, it's a kind of Indian tradition. Moreover, when there is any marriage relationship is going to be made, sweets come first on this occasion. No good news is complete until it is served with a box full of sweets.

* Utility of sweets in the first-feeding program-

The first-feeding is one of the important rituals of India. This program is held at that time when any new baby starts eating food for the first time. This ritual is done with great pomp. And the sweets are a prominent thing for this occasion.

The little babies start eating first time by taking a small bite of sweets. In this way, it is clear that the Indians are incomplete without sweets and their festivals, culture, tradition, and rituals too.

The Indians are connected with sweets with a strong bond. That's why their behaviors are also sweet.
