Even though you have read many articles on this topic and have read several books too. You have watched in several movies, many daughters and daughters-in-law are become victimized because of dowry. 

But in this article, I am not going to introduce the topic and neither going to say about its disadvantage. Rather, in this article, I am going to share my own perspective that I felt many times.

Actually, the dowry is a beautiful thought and beautiful feeling of parents about their daughters. According to ancient Indian history, the daughters are considered to be the form of Goddess Lakshmi, not only daughters but daughters-in-law also. They still are considered Goddess Lakshmi. In India, they were more adorable in their families. So, for living with comfort even after marriage they were given more jewelry, expensive garments, a lot of money, expensive assets as wedding gifts from their parents.

At that time, almost all the parents were and endowed with everything because most of them were a king or an emperor or they were the relatives of such kind of great kings. So they were able to fulfill their such kinds of feelings and thoughts. It was not difficult for them. But now it became mandatory.

The starting point of dowry culture in India

There is no particular time in Indian history about starting off this specific culture.  As time passed away, this beautiful feeling and thought have been turned into a mandatory demand for the boys and their families. Now, it become a curse for the parents of daughters. Now it became a compulsion for the daughter's parents. 

The demands go rise according to the posts and eligibility of boys. As being a parent, they think, their daughters will be happy and will live in peace if they will get married to an endowed boy. So, they become compelled to accept their wrong demands and do everything for fulfilling them. Even some of them become ready to sell out their properties and to mortgage their expensive things.

The dowry is harmful to the entity of girl's

Such thoughts florists because of the weakness of the daughter's parents. In many states of India, Such culture is Still flourishing because of the compulsion of parents.

Parents spend a lot of money on the marriage of their daughters. Why they don't spend the same money for building their careers? Why do they always think about their marriage? Why they do not think about their bright future by building their careers.

A daughter's parents need to think that their daughters are also eligible as same as a boy. They can do everything that a boy can do. So, they do not deserve only a married life but they deserve an independent life. Taking decisions of getting married is their own right. So, they should be given their rights. 

Accepting the demands of dowry reduces the importance of daughters

Despite being eligible, a daughter's parent accepts all demands of the boy's side. That time a daughter's parent needs to be gutsy, they need to consider their daughter eligible as same as the boys. They should say, that the things they will give to their daughter will be a wedding gift, not rather as a dowry. And what things to be given this will be their own decisions. Therefore, no unnecessary demands will be accepted. 

When all the parents will awake and will consider the importance of their daughter's, they will never accept the unnecessary demands of the boy's parents.

In this way, we all will succeed to remove this badness from our society.
