What is Omicron?

The word 'Omicron' came from Greek. It seems however to omega, is a Greek alphabet.

Omicron virus

According to W.H.O., it is the new variant of coronavirus, which is also dreadful as same as coronavirus. It rather can be said more dreadful than coronavirus.

Although, the exact information is not available yet. The researchers are continues in many countries.

There are several mutations of this virus, which causes illness. But the severity of this virus has not been detected yet.

All news channels are giving information about the spreading of this virus but it is not clear yet that whether the virus is more dreadful than Coronavirus or not. 

The severity of Omicron 

According to the facts as of today, it has not been found to be more dreadful. One or two weeks ago, the rumor was that the omicron is more powerful than coronavirus but now it became a myth. Because the percentage of infectious people even though is rising but the percentage of death due to omicron is not overwhelmed.

Omicron in South Africa

As the maximum cases of Omicron have been detected in South Africa first, so the statistic of omicron in South Africa is given more importance. Even though the preliminary data shows the increasing rate of hospitalization in South Africa but it is not sure that the calculation is for omicron infected people.

According to the cases in South Africa, the omicron has wave is milder compared to the other variant. the maximum cases (60% to 70%) less likely to need hospital treatment.

Omicron in India

According to the news channels, the infection is rising at a great speed in India. But the infection is due to coronavirus not to omicron. As we all know, Coronavirus is very dreadful whilst the omicron infection is not as severe as coronavirus.

The cases of infectious people are rising up day by day and the death rate too. But it is not have been saying particularly that whether the data is about coronavirus or about omicron.

There is confusion about the data of the infectious people

There is great confusion is arising about the data of an omicron and coronavirus. Preliminary data shows Omicron is less dreadful than coronavirus. And also it is saying that its severity is also less than coronavirus.

The everyday news renders the death rate and the rate of infection due to coronavirus, so here is a confusion that if the maximum data shows the infectious people due to coronavirus then where is the data of the omicron virus infectious people,s.

But one thing is clear that it is not as severe as coronavirus and its infection rate is also relatively low. Yet one thing is very worrying that the coronavirus has arrived again. We do not need to be fear of omicron but it needs to be afraid of coronavirus which is more frightening than all other viruses.

What precautions should be taken to avoid such viruses

*The first thing that we should do is, we should avoid gathering more people in one place. We should avoid attending any party as far as possible. 31st December and 1st January are coming nearer so we should avoid going for an outing. 

* The second thing is Mask. It is the most important thing which can protect us from being infected by such viruses.

* Washing hands from time to time is another way to protect ourselves from being infected. 

* Maintaining a distance of at least one feet is also important while meeting someone else.
