When will Holi be celebrated in 2025 and when is Holika Dahan?

Holi is a colourful festival celebrated all over India. It is celebrated annually in the Phagun Poornima (the full moon day and the last day of Phalgun or Phagun month) in the lunar calendar, and in the month of March in the Gregorian calendar. This year, it will be celebrated on 14th of March, i.e. Friday.
Holika Dahan, Date and Muhurat
Holika Dahan is performed one day before Holi. Thus the day falls on 13th March 2025. The best muhurat for Holika Dahan is from 13th March at 11:25 p.m. to 12:26 a.m. 14 March.
Celebrations
Holi is celebrated in several states of India. In Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand, Holi is celebrated with great pomp.
Uttar Pradesh:
Uttar Pradesh is famous for Phoolon wali Holi, Huranga Holi, and Lathmar Holi. Mathura, Vrindavan, and Barsana are the famous places of Uttar Pradesh where Holi is celebrated for 10 days with great pomp.
Rajasthan:
Rajasthan is the second famous place after Uttar Pradesh where Holi is widely played. People come to visit the holy festival from far away places. The holy festival celebrated in Rajasthan is known as Shahi Holi. Here big processions are taken out, in which elephant, horses and Shahi bands are involved.
West Bengal:
In West Bengal, Holi is known as 'Dol Utsav'. Both men and women wear yellow outfits and play with flowers and Gulal. Dol Utsav in Shantiniketan in West Bengal is famous all over the world.
The significance of Holi festival
Holi is the festival of beautiful colours and Gulal and also love, Brotherhood, goodness and forgiveness. Holi represent the divine love of Lord Krishna and Radha. Holi is celebrated to welcome the spring. Holi festival is also symbolise of good over evil as Lord Vishnu (Narasimha) killed the demon king Hiranyakashyapu and Holika the sister of Hiranyakashipu burnt in fire.
The Legend of Holi
There are several legends about Holi is famous among people in which, a few are famous among people one of them is the legend of Prahlad (a 5 years old child) and his devotion to Lord Vishnu. This Legend is found in the 7th chapter of the Bhagwat Purana.
