Monday is always considered very auspicious among Hindus, because it is the day of Lord Shiva, and the month of Saawan is also considered the month of Lord Shiva thus the Monday of Sawan is considered to be a great opportunity for the devotees to make please Lord shiva and washed away all the sins of life.

The significance and legend of Sawan Somvar or Saawan Monday
Saawan Somvar or the Mondays of the month of Shravan or Savan are considered important. It is said that Goddess Parvati also observed this fast, and then she attained Lord Shiva. That is why everyone observes this fast: so that they can receive the blessings of Lord Shiva.
Lord Shiva is also known as Mahadev, (the supreme God) and Bholenath. He is the God who fulfills the desires and wishes of the devotees. The whole month of Sawan is important and many people observe the whole month by offering water and Belpatra (Wood apple leaves) on the Shivalinga.
The Sombar or the Mondays of Saavn are observed especially by girls and women to get a good life partner and for the long life of their husbands'. Devotees observe the days by having Satvik Bhojan (food without onion and garlic). Some of them eat only fruits for the whole day. Apart from this, people also do this fast for domestic happiness, to gain prosperity, to get rid of severe diseases, and health issues, for getting a good life partner, and for overall happiness.
